According to Porsche officials, Porsche's future development plans will significantly expand its investment in material assets by approximately 3 billion euros and in research and development by more than 3 billion euros. Of the €3 billion added, about €500 million is spent on the development of the Mission E variant and derivative models, and about €1 billion is spent on the development of electric and hybrid models in the existing product range, hundreds of millions of euros will be used. In the expansion of the plant, the remaining 700 million euros will be used in the development of new technologies, charging infrastructure and smart mobile travel.

Mission E is a pure electric sports car from Porsche with a power of 600 hp and an acceleration of less than 3.5 seconds per 100 kilometers. According to Porsche, the model can be repeatedly accelerated and braked without any loss of performance, with a range of 500 km in the “New European Driving Cycle (NEDC)” endurance test. At 800 V system voltage, charging for 15 minutes can meet the needs of driving 400 km.

For the Mission E project, Porsche said that the project has created about 1,200 new jobs. A new paint booth, a dedicated assembly area, and a bridge conveyor for transporting painted bodies and drives to the final assembly area are currently under construction in Zuffenhausen. The existing engine plant will be used to produce electric drives after the expansion and will build the body shop. In addition, it will invest in the expansion of the Weissach Research and Development Center.

Porsche's hybrid model has been changed to the third generation, offering two versions of the model, with a pure electric driving range of 50 km.

Charging infrastructure refers to fast charging stations. Porsche has started a fast charging station construction project in 2017, and has formed a joint venture company IONITY with Audi on behalf of Volkswagen Group, BMW Group, Daimler AG and Ford Motor Company. It plans to be on the main roads in Europe by 2020. Construction and operation of 400 fast charging stations.
