Kemei Electronics Introduces KC-LINK Capacitors for Fast Switching Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Applications

KEMET recently announced the launch of KC-LINK surface mount capacitors at the 2018 Applied Power Electronics Conference (APC 2018) in San Antonio, Texas. KC-LINK is designed to meet the industry's growing demand for fast switching wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor devices. Wide-bandgap semiconductor devices enable power converters to operate at higher voltages, temperatures, and frequencies for higher efficiency and power density.


KC-LINK capacitors operate at very high ripple currents due to their high capacitive stability in temperature and voltage, making them ideal for DC bus, buffer and resonator applications. These features benefit from Kemei Electronics' reliable patented C0G/NPO(R) metal electrode (BME) dielectric system, which operates with very low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and thermal resistance. Due to operating temperatures up to 150 ° C, this capacitor can be mounted near fast switching semiconductor devices in high power density applications where cooling is critical.

Available in both commercial and automotive grades, as well as standard, flexible termination systems and are available in lead-free, RoHS and REACH standards.
