Still not fast enough? Tesla's new firmware will increase acceleration time

Tesla President Elon Musk revealed through Twitter that its Model S P100D will receive a firmware upgrade next month, including a further shortening of 100km acceleration and 1/4 mile acceleration.

The Model S P100D, released in August, already has quite powerful performance. Its 100-kilometer acceleration is only 2.5 seconds, and the 1/4-mile acceleration is only 10.78 seconds. The upcoming Easter Egg upgrade can further shorten the time between the two. Up to 2.4 and 10.6 seconds.

From a purely digital point of view, this increase may not be very large. But be aware that all of this can only be achieved with a software upgrade, which is quite remarkable.

Later, a user asked on Twitter whether the upgrade is applicable to users who upgraded from P90D to P100D after purchase. “All the P100D models that have been produced and brand new (both upgraded),” Musk replied. “This is purely a software optimization.” So, it seems that all P100D owners can enjoy the upgrade. benefit.

As for the specific release time of this upgrade, Musk did not disclose it in the tweet.

Linear Encoder

Draw-wire sensors of the wire sensor series measure with high linearity across the entire measuring range and are used for distance and position measurements of 100mm up to 20,000mm. Draw-wire sensors from LANDER are ideal for integration and subsequent assembly in serial OEM applications, e.g., in medical devices, lifts, conveyors and automotive engineering.
