Entry memory
In 1984, Yuan Yutang was only 18 years old. After bidding farewell to the campus, he stepped into a lighting factory in Haizhou and started a salesman.
In the early 1980s, there were only about ten lighting companies in Haizhou, which were basically producing wall lamps. The products were single and monotonous. The so-called wall lamp is just a glass piece with a pattern on the copper cast lamp body. The shape is only four or five styles. The crystal lamp, the lantern and the ceiling lamp have not yet appeared. Because there is no promotional materials such as albums and light books, the salesman must carry the sample sales. The portable lamps went to the world, which was the true portrayal of the business personnel at that time, and Yuan Yutang became the first group of people who took the lights and walked the world.
According to his recollections, at the beginning of the reform and opening up, the country has been waiting for the industry, the lighting industry has just started, plastic table lamps, wall lamps and early ceiling lamps have appeared in Shanghai and Zhejiang, and the ancient town Haizhou lighting has just sprouted. Under the 18th-year-old Yuan Yutang, except Xinjiang and Tibet, they ran almost all of China. At that time, the polarization between the rich and the poor was small, and the lamps were mainly sold to the state and the collective. This experience excites him and feels the freshness that has never been seen before. This fresh and exciting journey lasted for nearly two years.
Start at the beginning
In the past two years, the experience of selling lights, the eye-catching Yuan Yutang saw the prospects of the lighting industry. He decided to open his own factory and took 6,000 yuan together with his family. He bought the raw materials and assembled wall lamps in Shunde's parts factory, one or four people. The lighting workshop opened. When the reporter asked what was the biggest difficulty at that time, Yuan Yutang said that it was mainly funds, and then traffic. Capital turnover is not working, and transportation inconvenience has hindered the development of enterprises to a certain extent. I remember that at that time, ten thousand households were rich people, and one bicycle was a high-class means of transportation. I also used bicycles to go to Shunde, Guizhou and other places to purchase accessories. At that time, the bitterness was bitter, but the profits of the lighting were great, the demand was far greater than the production capacity, and the products could be sold. He said that this status quo is also the key to the start of the ancient town lighting.
Around 1989, the ring lights were raised in the market, and Yuan Yutang kept up. This highly practical lamp quickly occupied the market and his company was further developed. In 1993, Yuan Yutang accidentally saw a mirror headlight, which made him into a meditation. A family has more than one room with a mirror, and each mirror uses a glimpse. How big is the market for so many people in China! So he turned his eyes to the mirror headlights. In 1999, his products accounted for 60% of the national market because of his professionalism and fineness. His company has become synonymous with mirror lights. However, at this time, the ancient town also emerged from a hundred companies that produced mirror headlights. The competition became more and more cruel, the profits gradually declined, and Yuan Yutang began a new exploration.
