The winning Jinjing ultra-white glass will be mainly used in the "Bird's Nest", "Water Cube" partition board, the VIP reception room and the lighting roof. The total number of winning bids is 12,400 weight boxes. According to industry analysts, although the number of winning Olympic projects is not large, it does not contribute much to the company's performance, but it can greatly enhance the company's ultra-white glass brand image, which is of great significance to the development of the ultra-white glass market.
At present, only a few companies in the world, such as PPG in the United States, Saint-Gobain in France, Pilkington in the United Kingdom, and Asahi Glass in Japan, have mastered the production technology of ultra-clear glass. In 2003, Jinjing Technology cooperated with the glass giant PPG in the United States to invest 1 billion yuan to build an ultra-white glass production line with a daily melting capacity of 600 tons to fill the domestic gap. In July 2005, the company successfully launched the ultra-white glass. , became the first company in China to master the production technology of ultra-white glass. At present, the quality of the ultra-white glass produced by the company has basically reached the level of similar foreign products, and the market price is less than half of the foreign imported products, which has strong market competitiveness.
According to the relevant person in charge of the company, after more than two years of market cultivation, the ultra-white glass market has entered a stage of rapid growth. The company successfully developed the application of ultra-white glass in home appliances, lighting and other fields; in the field of architectural decoration, in addition to the Olympic project, the interior works of the National Grand Theatre, Beijing Yintai Center, Nanjing Zifeng Building and other projects also used Jinjing ultra-white glass. . Data show that in the first half of this year, sales of Jinjing ultra-white glass increased by more than 300% year-on-year, and sales reached 640,000 weight boxes. Exports have also increased due to their obvious cost advantages. The ratio of exports and domestic sales increased from 1:3 in 2006 to 1:1 in the first half of this year.
According to industry insiders, with the continuous expansion of ultra-white glass in solar energy applications and other products, the market space of ultra-white glass will continue to expand. At the same time, due to the time from the construction of the ultra-white glass production line to the final market entry of the product, it takes about two years. Therefore, it is expected that the production capacity of the company's ultra-white glass production line will be released in the next two or three years. From the company's 2007 mid-year report, the gross profit margin of ultra-white glass reached more than 50%, significantly higher than ordinary high-quality float glass. Therefore, as the only ultra-white glass manufacturer in China, the company is expected to benefit from the rapid expansion of the ultra-white glass market.
