North Sense is a small inductive device. Embed it in your body and you have a new feeling. Every time you face north, you will feel a short shock. Currently, there are only two users of this product: Liviu Babitz and Scott Cohen, two founders of Cyborg Nest.
“There is an inexpressible world around us,†Cohen told the Guardian website. “When we walked on the street, the surroundings were radiation, X-rays, infrared and ultraviolet light, as well as the electromagnetic field of the planet. We want to create a new feeling that can perceive the surrounding environment."
Cyborg Nest wants to create and expand the human feel. The company's other two founders, Neil Harbisson and Moon Ribas, have installed sensing devices that transcend human perception. Harbisson is able to “hear†the spectrum, including infrared and ultraviolet light; Ribas can sense earthquakes anywhere.
Many animals have a natural sense of direction, and the sense of direction of human beings is acquired. With North Sense configured, users can keep track of where they are. This naturally does not replace the map, but Cyborg Nest does not see it as a pure tool, but as a sensory enhancement. “By many things, biology is cruel: it gives us the need to survive, but it doesn't give more,†Cohen said.

Just as tattoos were a hobby of a few people, Babitz and Cohen expect that the technology of strengthening the body will be accepted by more people. North Sense is a very radical idea, but as technology advances, the boundaries between humans and Cyborg (electronic people, transformants) must be blurred. After all, many people have used technology to strengthen their abilities.
When North Sense is officially launched, its users will vary widely. “Currently, there is no one with the same artificial feel,†Babitz said. “Based on the experience of a single brain, you can’t build a theory.
