LED lighting standards officially came into effect at the end of August

LED lighting is setting off a lighting revolution as high-brightness LEDs improve light output, energy efficiency and cost, while combining small, low-voltage operation and environmental protection. In the trend of energy saving and environmental protection, LED lighting has naturally become the target of many regulatory agencies. In order to make the LED lighting product specifications follow, not to repeat the early CFL promotion, the quality of the product is mixed, leading to market confusion. After three drafts, the US Department of Energy (DOE) finally has energy for LED lamps. The EnergyStar standard issued the final confirmed version and is required to take effect on August 31, 2010. A key focus of the standard is the power factor (PF) required for a variety of home lighting products, up to a minimum of 0.7, including portable desk lamps, cabinet lighting and outdoor corridor lights.
