At the Chiba Makuhari International Exhibition Center in Japan, the world's first fully automatic clothing folding robot "laundroid" earned quite popular. The Laundroid robot was developed by three Japanese manufacturers, Seven Dreamers, Panasonic and Daiwa House. Its function is to help users fold clothes.
Put a shirt into it, and after 3 minutes and 40 seconds, you can get back the neatly folded shirt. According to certain scientific calculations, each Japanese housewife accumulates an average of 9000 hours of work for a family in a lifetime, about 375 days of work. And if you have this kind of smart wardrobe, then these 9000 hours of time mothers can be used to do a lot of things they want to do. Japanese media reported that the robot can analyze the clothes placed, and can identify shirts, pants, skirts and towels. After the identification is completed, the internal robot arm works and begins to fold.
Although Laundroid is called a laundry robot, it does not have a human appearance. It is more like a large wardrobe. It is called a robot, mainly because it handles the whole process of washing, drying and folding clothes. Users need to do it. At present, there are many washing machines on the market that have both washing and drying functions. However, it is unheard of to be able to help fold clothes. It is understood that Seven Dreamers spent more than ten years developing Laundroid, and the system will identify and analyze each image through images. A variety of styles of clothes, pants, towels, and then decide how to fold clothes.
However, unlike traditional washing machines or detergents, the core of laundroid is not its motor, nor its chemical cleansing ability, but its mosaic technology! Of course, Seven Dreamers calls it image resolution technology.
Why do you say that the core technology of laundroid is mosaic? Because its basic principle is to scan the fabric to get the image, then a color block to analyze and locate a color patch (see video) to determine the material, shape and other information of the clothing, and then determine the cleaning method, the position of the fold line when folding and many more. There is no doubt that a lot of calculations will be carried out in the middle, but laundroid also has the ability to learn to continuously record the cleaning methods and folding methods of various fabrics, so the overall speed will be faster and faster. This is also a way for mosaics to benefit mankind. Who says that mosaics only prevent social progress?
The manufacturer of “laundroid†said that although the stacking speed of “laundroid†can not be compared with the manpower, it will be continuously improved and perfected, and it will be put on the market in 2017.
