All this was seen by Denis Huen, so he began to think about how to make life easier for Parkinson's patients, so that Grandpa could pick up a glass of water without effort, and finally Denis Huen decided to make a mechanical arm.

In December 2014, Denis Huen and the team made an early version of the product and named it MedEXO Robotics, who wanted to create a robotic arm that Parkinson's patients could simply control.

After several iterations, they made a fairly predictable mockup in October 2015 and let Denis Huen's grandfather test the product as the first “angel user”.

"This is the first time he has used his arm to pick up the tea cup in more than 30 years." Denis Huen said excitedly.

MedEXO Robotics can trigger a compression control system in the patient's body to reduce patient's trembling and increase spontaneous motion. In the later stage, this device can record patient data through the APP, and adjust its own function in conjunction with the data to facilitate better coordination and patient adaptation. It can also be converted into a new tactile analog feedback system for use in telemedicine diagnostics.

Denis Huen also conducted a small-scale test of the robot arm, which can help the patient to complete simple actions such as drinking water and eating.

There are many similar devices on the market today, such as gloves for Parkinson’s patients, special tableware for patients, bionic arms, smart bracelets that use big data technology, and many cutting-edge treatment technologies. There is no particular maturity in product form.

Denis Huen’s desire is to reduce the cost of this technology as much as possible, with a goal of 200 pounds, as a guarantee of functionality, so that it can potentially benefit more areas.
