People who are constantly in contact with computers are not expected to be unfamiliar with low-voltage processors, and laptops with such processors tend to have longer battery life. This concept is now being adopted by car manufacturers. Foreign energy company nanoFLOWCELL recently announced the world's first low-voltage electric car - QuanTIno.
With a body length of approximately 3.91 meters, the QuanTIno features a 2+2 four-seater design with 22-inch wheels. QuanTIno has two 175-litre fuel tanks capable of carrying a total volume of 350 liters of ionic liquid, one with a positive charge and the other with a negative charge. The power system is mainly composed of two liquid electrolyte batteries and four electric motors.
The process of adding fuel to QuanTIno is similar to the process of refueling a car now, except that the two fuel tanks are simultaneously filled with different liquids.
The Quantino is a low voltage car rated at 48 volts. Compared to high voltage systems, low voltage systems do not require full contact and flashover protection, making it easier for low voltage vehicles to meet safety standards and be certified.
However, unlike the computer low-voltage processor, although Quantino works with low voltage, its performance has not shrunk. It is equipped with an all-wheel drive system with a range of up to 1000km, a top speed of 200km/h and a maximum output of 136hp.
According to the plan, nanoFLOWCELL will conduct Quantino's drive test later this year, but it is still unknown whether it is finally mass-produced.
