Recently, Silan Microelectronics introduced the 1A high-power hysteresis LED driver chip SD42525 with an input voltage of 6-36V and an output current variation range of 10-15%. The chip is a buck, constant current LED driver circuit with high conversion efficiency, mainly for MR16 applications.
The SD42525 uses hysteresis mode control for fast transient response with minimal external components and no additional loop compensation design, reducing application cost. Due to the delay of the internal comparator and the entire system, the output current of the LED drive circuit in the hysteresis control mode is affected by the input voltage and the number of LED loads.
The SD42525 uses the company's patented output current compensation technology to reduce the output current variation with the input voltage, allowing the output current range to be controlled within ±3%. The chip adopts the advanced BCD process, and uses high-precision trimming technology internally. The output current consistency is good, and the difference of output current of different batches of chips can be controlled within ±3%.
The SD42525 can use the DIM pin for PWM dimming or analog dimming. The two dimming modes share one pin. Compared with analog dimming, PWM does not exhibit LED color shifting, which can meet the dimming requirements in the range of 100-20 kHz.
The system conversion efficiency of SD42525 can be as high as 96% or more. The chip integrates multiple protection circuits such as temperature protection and current limiting to ensure the normal working environment of the LED lamp and prolong its service life. The SD42525 is available in SOP-8, SOT-23-6L, and SOT-89-5L packages to allow customers to choose the right package type.
