Android 3.0 tablet fear reluctantly extended

Taiwan media reported that due to Google’s current strategy to give priority to Android 3.0 system support for Motorola, Samsung, LG, HTC and other smart phone manufacturers, many notebook manufacturers have begun to worry about the Android 3.0 tablet development progress will be forced to delay.

According to industry sources, due to the lack of priority support from Google, coupled with the decline in sales of netbooks and the decline in sales volume of entry-level notebooks and all-in-one computers, notebook manufacturers are currently under considerable pressure.

Under Google's strategy, the industry expects that notebook makers' Android 3.0 tablets will be later than smartphone makers' product launches, and they will face strong competition from the latter. Tablets for smartphone makers are expected to be launched as early as the next half of next February, while notebook makers will have to wait until the end of March.

Although most vendors also plan to introduce Wintel or Android 2.2 tablet models, shipments will be very limited, mainly because they are not optimistic about the market prospects of the above models, and that Android 3.0 is the dominant future.
