Google recently announced through an official blog that Daydream View will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia in the five countries on November 10, priced at 79 US dollars (about 533 yuan), interested consumers can now Pre-order at the official online store. At the same time, consumers in the United States can also purchase through Verizon and Best Buy.
Daydream View can be seen as a mental upgrade of Google Cardboard, but there are some obvious differences between the two devices. First, Daydream View is made of plastic, soft cloth, and foam, unlike Cardboard, which consists of only a cardboard box. Second, View will be the first VR helmet to support the Daydream platform, Google's VR-centric platform/content store.
Daydream View should look like an interesting product, but is Daydream platform ready to meet with us? This remains to be seen. Google said that the Daydream platform will provide a series of applications for users at the start of the game, such as Hulu VR, YouTube VR, Google Street View, where the magical animals are, the New York Times VR and so on.
The Pixel and Pixel XL handsets are currently the only two handsets that support the Daydream platform. This means that Daydream View can only be used with these two handsets when it is first launched. However, other manufacturers will also release Daydream-compatible phones in the future to extend Daydream View's compatibility.
