Test solutions and tools for measuring 10GEPON chipsets are available
Anritsu ’s MP1800A series error code tester was used to successfully measure CTXL1 10G EPON SerDes chip of K-micro, paving the way for the launch of 10G EPON system
K-micro, a leader in ASIC manufacturing, and Anritsu jointly announced the development of the world ’s first measurement method and tool for measuring and analyzing 10Gbps EPON chipsets, using Anritsu ’s MP1800A series of bit error testers to successfully measure K-micro The burst performance of the company's CTXL1 10G EPON SerDes chip paves the way for the launch of the 10G EPON system
Using this set of measurement methods, the burst lock time of K-micro's 10G EPON SerDes CTXL1 chipset has reached an unprecedented 20 nanoseconds. "Through cooperation with Anritsu, which has excellent measurement technology, we have developed such a set of measurement solutions for EPON chipsets. Users have already prepared for 10G EPON. Now they need to know whether the chipsets they use can meet the product's index requirements. ", Said Vijay Pathak, CTO of K-micro.
The two main challenges for evaluating 10G EPON OLT burst mode SerDes are:
1. The bit error meter can only calculate the bit errors of the payload data and the data in the separation area. The preamble data area used for synchronization should not calculate the bit errors.
2. SerDes must maintain the same delay for each burst packet; in other words, the error detector must allow the delay between different burst packets to be inconsistent.
The powerful PPG and ED modules of the MP1800A series error detectors can easily accurately measure the bit error rate. The unique built-in self-test function of the CTXL1 chipset can successfully adjust the delay of different burst packets to be consistent, so that the error detector It is not necessary to adjust the delay for different burst packets to measure bit errors. Using these two edge adjustment techniques allows the BER meter to measure the burst mode lock time when the bit error rate at 10.3125Gbps is lower than 1.0E-12.
"The successful measurement of the lock time of the 10G EPON chipset of K-micro is a major step in the application of 10G EPON." Anritsu ’s Kim Collins said that through the close cooperation of the two companies, the difficulty of measuring this technology was overcome. Customers can get the desired test results.
