In the entire VR product system, location tracking as an important basic technology affects the performance of the overall system immersion. Therefore, understanding and mastering the application and development of location tracking technology solutions has become an important part of building virtual reality products.
How does the number and distribution of hardware components (targets, cameras) affect the tracking of locations? What are the requirements for software systems and algorithms? How to ensure the positioning accuracy, speed, and delay specifications? What are the requirements for position tracking schemes in different application scenarios? Which direction will future VR tracking technology develop?
In order to answer these questions, we invited Zhang Haiwei, the co-founder of Qingtong Vision, to "resolve the position tracking technology in virtual reality" for us in this open class.
Guest introduction
Zhang Haiwei Co-founder of Qingtong Vision
He graduated from the State Key Laboratory of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008. His research interests include SLAM positioning, three-dimensional reconstruction, panoramic splicing, motion capture, and facial expression capture. He has authorised three invention patents. In August 2015, Shanghai Qing Hitomi Vision Technology Co., Ltd. was established to locate human-computer interaction technology in the field of artificial intelligence. At present, the core products are motion capture and expression capture, which are mainly used in the fields of film and television, animation, games, education, medical treatment, sports, military industry, virtual reality, and augmented reality. Qingyou Vision focuses on providing useful interactive technologies, reducing the cost of communication between people and computers, and making computers and humans friends.
